Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The hotel was in a good location and was clean. The staff was polite. The ramen in the evening was a nice treat. Breakfast was OK; not as extensive as some of the other hotels we stayed at while in Japan.

Negative: They charged us for checking in early (we got there 45 min prior). The room was ready (our luggage that we had forwarded was already in the room). Then when we got to the room it was VERY small. We would have had a piece of luggage at the end of our bed because of the lack of floor space (we had two large suitcases, 2 carry-ons suitcases and two backpacks). We were traveling with 4 other parties who all paid a similar rate but got much larger rooms. When I requested a change, they charged me for a larger room. The larger room was very nice. It wouldn't have irritated me so much except that my other family members all got larger rooms without being upcharged. Also if you want a bath (not onsen), this hotel only has showers.

Summary: OK, but they nickel and dime you.
