Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: It’s quite near to the subway line. The space is big for a Japanese home and the separation between the sleep and living spaces is good. There was cooking oil, soya sauce and a salt and pepper mixture, allowing for simple cooking. The presence of a handheld vacuum cleaner also allowed for simple cleaning.

Negative: The property promised free private parking but after payment had been processed, I received notice that there’s construction going on and we have to park at the paid parking lots nearby instead. While there was monetary provision made by the host for this (1000yen for parking per night of stay), this created some stress since we have young children who want to return early to rest and we were worried about parking costs. Turns out there’s a maximum charge of 1300yen for the lot we parked at when we parked for 2 nights so tourists can leave their cars and take the subway to the expensive shopping districts. There is also almost no decor in the house and it feels like a man decorated the place due to the colour palette of brown, black, grey and white, and the mixture of metal, leather, wood and fabric in the furnishing. Plus, there is a huge flatscreen tv and a dining table with users seated single file facing the curtain. Maybe a curtain covering the back door might also be good. And a bath mat outside the shower area.
