Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Room size was amazing you essentially get your own house. The private hot spring bath in the room is something I would've expected to pay at least twice as much for (and likely would have in a different city). The large public bath is also very nice and worth visiting at least once. The staff was helpful when I had a question about check-in ( I think I only half completed it online when they send you the online form later) and they answered any questions I might have had.

Negative: The location is a bit out of the way, which makes the ambience of the place awesome, but you're looking at a 30min walk uphill from downtown Yufuin, if you don't take a cab/have a car. If you do have the transport thing taken care of, or you don't mind the walk, the other thing to be aware of is that there are no meals served at the hotel (there are some drink vending machines). The hotel makes you aware of this beforehand, so you can plan to pickup stuff in town (there's a microwave/fridge) or you can dine in Yufuin itself before heading up.

Summary: Private and Public Baths were fantastic.
