Positive: The hotel is in an exceptional location, within easy walking distance of Muro-ji Temple, which gives the stay a rare feeling of peace and seclusion. There are many beautiful routes nearby for walks and hiking through the forest, and places like the Art Forest are also easy to explore. Even without a car, you can still do a lot: with a bit of planning around the timetable, it’s possible to take the bus to a nearby town/village and come back the same day. The rooms are truly stunning — traditional Japanese style with beautiful details, very calm and atmospheric. A special thank you to the host: he personally prepared a traditional dinner for us, and it became one of the highlights of our trip. He was exceptionally kind, attentive, and helpful. We were traveling without a car, and he even drove us to the store a few times, which we really appreciated.

Negative: This is not related to the hotel itself, but without a car the transport connections are limited: the bus comes roughly once per hour, so you need to plan your day around the schedule.
