Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Proximity to train station and other things to do in Kichijoji was great, a 5 - 20 min walk for anything. The beds were comfy and the fold out couch wasn’t too bad either. It is affordable and pretty functional.
Negative: It has more of an Air BnB feel than a hotel. The bathroom is right off the kitchen and doesn’t have a place to leave your clothes except the kitchen floor. I would say it is a private bathroom in that you don’t share with strangers, but you want to be very familiar with the people you’re staying with or you will feel your privacy breached. The kitchen has a stove, fridge and microwave. The train line is right next to the building, which makes the room shake and it is noisy. It didn’t bother us but if you’re a light sleeper, you want to know this. There are only stairs, no elevator, so heavy suitcases are an issue.
