Positive: This was our first experience in a ryokan, so I can't compare it with others, but I would say that everything was at its best. I'm afraid we weren't as good guests as I hoped, because we didn't know how to behave properly or what to do, but we tried and, I think, it worked well. The service is attentive more than you expect it would be, but it's very discrete, so you feel taken care of while keeping your privacy. We enjoyed the thermal bath in our bedroom more than the public or the private (that you can book for half an hour) ones, so we spent a lot of time avoiding the other guests and that was fine with us. Dinner and breakfast were just perfect. The room was big and comfortable. The people too kind. I'm really sorry not being able to communicate my gratitude to our nakai-san, I hope this message reaches her as she gifted us with a beautiful experience. Special thanks to the receptionist as well.

Negative: I understand that a ryokan is meant to be an old place, but some little details looked neglected. It isn't something of much importance, everything important was clean (very clean), but I was sorry to notice old spots on the bedspread, the fabric of the yukata torn here and there and the glass of the windows covered with dried-out raindrops. As I said, these things are not important, as the general experience was wonderful, but they are like a little burnt pixel on a perfectly clean screen: you enjoy the film, but you can't help noticing that black dot.
