Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Old school sense of service, staff friendly and helpful. Limited English but that's pretty normal for Japan. Hotel isn't new but everything works as it should and is well maintained and very clean. Also it's on a quiet street but not far from the station. There's a complimentary free coffee machine dispensing freshly ground coffee on the ground floor. Lifesaver! Be sure to book a non-smoking floor unless you are a smoker. Unfortunately Japan still has a lot of cigarette smokers and hotels accommodate smokers on specific floors.

Negative: Not sure how but cigarette smoke from another floor kept entering my room intermittently (- unfortunately I'm super sensitive to this). Staff immediately changed my room and all was OK.

Summary: Old school but clean with friendly staff
