Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The proximity to the airport and the the start/finish line to the Yakushima Eco Ultramarathon.

Negative: The strict “no visitors allowed in room” policy as we had friends staying at other locations and wanted to visit with them in the comfort of our room. Also - having to get dinner reservations for the restaurant a day in advance. I don’t eat breakfast, but others in my room did go down for the pre-booked breakfast and I wanted to sit with them and drink coffee but wasn’t allowed in the restaurant at all. None of us were able to use the onsen until after 10pm due to tattoos, so none of did. Still got charged per day, per person a bath charge. Maybe a cultural thing. My apologies is that is the case.

Summary: Overall a good experience and I feel like I got true old school Japan visit.
