Summary: More of a guesthouse than a hotel. The owners live next door and are very nice. The room was quite spartan like a dorm room but en-suite. It was clean but really had no charm. The biggest problem was that the guesthouse was too far to walk to the shops or old karuizawa. So if you have to drive in why not just get a real hotel somewhere in sakudaira for much cheaper price? They also have a picture of a big bath on their profile but it’s some onsen somewhere cause there is not one on the premises.

Summary: Very hospitable owners who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They even gave us grapes when we first arrived and also drove us to the train station. Room is small compared to what you get in the US but it’s clean. Would stay here again.

Summary: There was an English speaking staff member who was incredibly friendly and even provided us with English pamphlets about the surrounding area. :-) Everything was clean and very well organized.
