Summary: The Annex is way better than the other one which is older and has gone downhill. This one is beautiful in a Japanese retro and romantic way fitting to Hakodate. Plenty of yeasts and snack services, 3 private baths besides the big bathing areas, fabulous breakfast with fresh everything, even bubbly and sake!! Our room was spacious (premium deluxe) and many thoughtful touches and amenities. We had the dinner plan too. The first night included all you can eat made to order sushi and wagyu shabu shabu. The second night main was wagyu sukiyaki and tempura. Both dinners had plenty of small plates too, featuring the local IKA SOMEN ( thinly sliced like angel hair noodle local fresh caught squid) and the second night two free drinks so we hit two big bottles of beer! Service and hospitality was great. The massage had bad reviews and was expensive so we didn’t go, but just relaxing in the wonderful bath was plenty!!!
