Positive: The view from the room, and sitting in the outdoor onsen at dawn were worth the price of admission. So much unadvertised free stuff also came with the room - games at the bowling alley, unlimited free drinks in the free billiard and darts room, breakfast included for free. The staff were super nice, and the facility was almost empty of other guests. The onsen is utterly beautiful

Negative: The property is in a state of transition - I suspect it has been taken over by a new well-funded owner. Much of it is tired and in need of renovation and updating. There was major construction going on to the property which we had to walk through and around. Although construction noise was minimal, it was present. There was no warning of or explanation for this chaos, and it was difficult to know where to go on arrival. Some of the free facilities were on another property that was 15 minutes walk away. Although there were shuttles available, it wasn’t immediately obvious where to catch them or when they went.

Summary: A wonderful onsen experience with a spectacular view.
